• Newfoundland Railway Canadian National Narroe Gauge

The Newfoundland Railway was the longest narrow gauge railroad in North America. The railroad was isolated on the island. Traffic came in from Sydney, NS, via ferry boat. Standard gauge cars had their trucks replaced with 3 1/2 foot gauge trucks for the run across the island. Power in the later years came in the form of EMD GR-12s, which were essentially GP-9s with six axle trucks. Covered is the ferry ride into Port aux Basque and we follow various trains eastward to St. Johns. 90 minutes, all color, maps and narration.
