• Mexican Narrow Gauge

Jim Terrell enjoyed visiting and filming the railroads of Mexico. His favorites were the United Southeasterns (FUS) narrow gauge lines out of Merida on the Yucatan Peninsula. The National Railroad, NdeM, also operated a narrow gauge branch out of Oriental, near Vera Cruz. Both roads used EMD G8 narrow gauge diesel locomotives and carried passengers as well as freight. But in the Motul area of Yucatan, there was an extensive network of one-half meter gauge horse car railroads. These were used by anyone with a car and an animal. They were also used by industry for in plant transfers. Jim covered all of this in the early 1980s. All color, in camera sound, maps and narration. One hour and 48 minutes.,
